Side Hustles Around Children
Many parents are now looking to get started side-hustling whilst looking after their children and the great news is, there is so many ways now that you can both make money from home that don’t take 12 hours a day to manage! So you can earn some great extra income whilst spending quality time with your children. If you’re intentional and work around the small pockets you can get throughout the day, you can definitely work on a whole range of side hustles whilst managing to spend quality time with your kids. Here are some side hustles you can do to work around children.
Child-Care
If you’re at home looking after your children, why not offer additional childcare services for other local parents in your area? Childcare is hugely in demand and you can kill two birds with one by both getting to spend time with your own children and also getting to earn some great money on the side.
Online Surveys
Online surveys take very little time and concentration to do at all. Even if all you have is just a few 5 minute pockets of time throughout the day, you can stack these surveys up and by the end of the week, you should be able to earn a nice small amount of income. Online surveys won’t make you rich, but if you swap out your pockets of time from scrolling through social media feeds to completing surveys, you can get a nice little bonus payment.

Virtual Assistant
If you’re working from home with children, you will most likely have a few hours throughout the day where your kids are napping so you can use these few hours to become a virtual assistant and complete some part time tasks. These can include, answering emails, managing social media profiles, content writing and many more! You have a huge range of options to choose from so if you have skills within writing or design, you can easily earn some money on the side.
Reselling
Reselling is a fantastic side hustle and doesn’t actually require much time during your day. You can manage your listings, source products and package them up throughout your day. You can even use services like MyHermes to collect your packages from your home so if getting out to the post office is an issue then you don’t need to worry!
Setting up an online shop
Running your own online shop works very similar in a lot ways to reselling, the only difference being that you’re selling your own products rather than sourcing other products to resell. Your online shop can sell products you make or you can create digital products to sell. You can dedicate some time each day to creating new products for your shop or for packaging your orders if you’re selling physical products.
Matched Betting
Matched Betting works similar to online surveys in that it doesn’t require a huge amount of time. It does a have a bit of a learning curve to get started but once you are confident, you can take part in matched betting throughout the day when you have some spare time and work it around your schedule.
I hope that these side hustles have given you ideas for making money around caring for your children.
